Questions Answered.
No. All encryption and decryption happens exclusively in your browser. Your master password and plaintext data never leave your device. Our servers only store the encrypted ciphertext, salt, and nonce — which are meaningless without your password.
Your master password cannot be recovered — by design. There is no reset mechanism for your vault password because it never reaches our servers. This is a core privacy guarantee. We recommend storing it in a very secure location.
You choose a check-in interval (weekly, monthly, quarterly, or every 6 months). At the end of each period, you receive an email and/or SMS with a single 'I Am Alive' button. Clicking it resets the timer. If you miss three escalating reminders, your executor is notified to begin the verification process.
Your executor is one designated trusted contact — typically a family member or attorney. They can only access your vault after: (1) your heartbeat fails three times, (2) they upload legal documentation (death certificate or court order), and (3) an admin manually approves the request. Even then, they must answer your custom security questions to decrypt the vault.

Yes. You can snooze your heartbeat notifications for up to 180 days at any time from your dashboard — for example, when you're travelling, hospitalised, or simply unavailable. While snoozed, no notifications are sent and the timer is paused entirely.
